Soluble Fiber
What happens when gut bacteria break down fibers and sugars you can't digest yourself. Like composting—bacteria eat what you can't and produce gases (and beneficial compounds) as byproducts. A little fermentation is good. Too much = bloating.
Fermentation
Grains that contain all their original parts — the bran, germ, and endosperm — making them more filling and nutrient-rich, such as oats, brown rice, whole wheat, millets, and barley.
Whole Grains
Polyphenols
Gut Motility
Enzymes
Your body's alarm system responding to irritation or damage. Like a fire alarm—helpful when there's real danger, exhausting when it won't shut off. Chronic gut inflammation (from stress, poor diet, or gut barrier issues) can cause bloating, pain, and fatigue.
Inflammation
The speed at which food moves from your stomach into the intestines after eating, affecting how full you feel, how steady your energy is, and how comfortable digestion feels.
Gastric Emptying
A state where harmful molecules build up faster than the body can neutralise them, creating stress in gut cells and potentially affecting digestion
Oxidative Stress
A protein present in wheat, barley, and rye that gives dough structure and may cause issues for some individuals.
Gluten
